Park MGM: Classic Stone Heads Back to the Strip!
The Monte Carlo Resort & Casino in Las Vegas is undergoing a $450 million renovation and rebrand. MGM Resorts International has partnered with Sydell Group to create two unique hotels housed under a single roof: the posh NoMad Hotel, originally from New York, and the casually elegant Park MGM. Classic Stone will source and deliver over 30,000 sq. ft. of marble for the Park MGM in this exciting luxury collaboration.
The renovation and rebrand is part of a multibillion-dollar project to revitalize the west side of Las Vegas Boulevard. This included a large renovation and redesign of the frontage zones for the Monte Carlo and New York-New York Hotels, and the creation of The Park, an outdoor oasis featuring spectacular dining and entertainment. The Park acts as the “connective tissue” between the resorts, flowing seamlessly to the new 20,000-seat T-Mobile arena. Classic Stone was the largest supplier of natural stone for this phase of the project, supplying over 280,000 sq. ft. of exterior pavers and cladding. “We are elated to be back in Las Vegas and working on another exciting project with MGM Resorts,” says Classic Stone Chief Executive Officer Doruk Borekci. “This time we are heading indoors, to source and deliver a luxurious collection of marble.”
The interior of the Park MGM, designed by Martin Brudnizki, is elegant and refined, with a trendy, innovative edge. Classic Stone is providing over 30,000 sq. ft. of marble for the lobby and meeting rooms. “The lobby is a stunner, with a creative water-jet floor pattern using two Italian marbles,” Borekci explains. “This transformation is going to be incredible.”
Additional stonework for the common areas is expected in the coming months. Development is already underway, with a grand opening slated for late 2018.
