The Chelsea Atelier Building | 245 Seventh Ave.

The Chelsea Atelier building is one of the most elegant pre-war condominium buildings in Chelsea, New York. Built in 1912, this 12-story brick building was converted into luxury condominiums in 1997.

In 2016, Classic Stone worked closely with Chelsea Atelier Architects to assist with the lobby renovation. The new space is bright and airy, featuring a combination of limestone and marble in a soft, neutral palette. Large panels of Limra limestone were used for the wall cladding along with scattered vertical inlay strips of Corinthian Beige marble for some added flair.  A set of functional doors and a concealed cabinet were also cladded in Limra with a Honeycomb backing system for safety and weight reduction. Large slabs of Corinthian Beige marble were also used for the flooring, elevator, and custom reception desk.

The lobby was complete and fully operational in late 2017.
