Classic Stone LLC (Classic Stone) was recently awarded an $8.5M contract for the supply and installation of over 15,000 sqm of exterior stone cladding for a new private, luxury residence under construction in Qatar.

The development includes a grand main house, two villas, swimming pool, pool house, and large courtyard. The exteriors are romantic, yet sophisticated, with a French-inspired design. The buildings will be cladded in a beige limestone from France using an anchorage railing system. To add a bit of color and flair, the pool house and courtyard will feature marble columns and pavers from Italy and Turkey.

The limestone will have a sleek, honed finish, aside from the base of the buildings, which will feature a slightly darker shade of the stone in a split-face finish. The stonework is extremely intricate, requiring a large amount of very detailed and precise shop drawings. The supply chain logistics are also challenging, with a majority of the stone being quarried in France and then shipped to China for fabrication.

Shop drawings and fabrication are underway with a site mock-up scheduled in the coming weeks. An additional contract for the paving stone, estimated at $1.5M, is also under negotiation. The entire project is slated for completion in early 2019.
