Classic Stone LLC (Classic Stone) was recently awarded the complete stone package for a seven-story, mixed-use development in Chicago, Illinois. The Arcade project, developed by Borekci Real Estate, is in close proximity to Loyola University and will serve as a transit-oriented building with a combination of retail and residential space.

The building features a serrated stone façade designed by Efficiency Labs. Classic Stone will supply over 25,000 sqft of limestone and granite in a sleek, honed finish. The amenity space will feature a large outdoor patio with marble pavers sourced from Turkey. “The stone production for the façade will be challenging,” explains Doruk Borekci, CEO of Classic Stone. “The installation will be completed using a kerf system, which requires a lot of detailed cuts. Precision at the factory is vital to ensure a smooth installation process.”

The interiors, designed by Hirsch MPG, include 58 residential units, an expansive lobby, and amenity floor. The design is modern and sophisticated with a cool color scheme and upscale finishes. The lobby will have a mix of marble and granite flooring along with carved limestone panels for an accent wall. The residences will feature dark granite kitchen countertops paired with striking black marble vanity tops in the bathrooms.

Block selection for the stonework is in process with production gearing up over the summer months. The site is currently under construction with project completion slated for spring of 2019.
