Classic Stone LLC (Classic Stone) is honored to support the Galataport waterfront revitalization project located along the Bosphorus in the Old Town of Istanbul. The new port will transform the coastline into a public promenade, “connecting the city with the sea” and restoring access to a currently restricted area.

Classic Stone collaborated with New York-based landscape architect, James Corner Field Operations, providing specification guidance during the early design stages. In the end, a combination of natural stone pavers and pebble mosaics was selected for the pedestrian-only waterfront district, which will include shops, restaurants, offices, hotels and cultural attractions. Many of the historical buildings within the area will also be restored as part of the project, creating a cohesive environment between the new development and existing structures.

Applying their signature quarry-to-project approach, Classic Stone ensures the material and installation will be worthy of this soon-to-be globally recognized project. A mock-up was recently installed on-site with final approval expected in the coming weeks.
