Classic Stone LLC (Classic Stone) has been awarded a new contract to source and supply over 15,000 sqft of natural stone for a major office renovation in downtown Durham, North Carolina.

Legacy Tower, a prominent 1960’s era office building, is undergoing an $11M renovation including exterior improvements, a remodeled and expanded lobby and ground floor, extensive renovations of conference rooms and shared spaces, and an updated plaza. Significant portions of the original building will be preserved or repurposed.

Classic Stone is collaborating closely with Built Form, who is the lead architect on the project. The interiors are bright and airy with lots of natural light and sophisticated office décor. The lobby flooring features a dark gray marble sourced from Turkey. Classic Stone is also providing exterior granite pavers in dark earth tone colors for the plaza and entrance areas.

Construction on-site is well underway and material production is complete. The iconic tower will reopen its doors next month, with Duke University and Perkins & Will among their impressive list of new tenants.
