After nearly a decade of design and construction, Nine Orchard hotel opened in the summer of 2022 after the historic renovation and conversion of the iconic Jarmulowsky Bank Building on the Lower East Side.
Developed by DLJ Real Estate Capital Partners, the luxury boutique hotel features 113 guest rooms, multiple food and beverage options – that are a destination in their own right, and a swanky rooftop lounge for private events. The 12-story hotel occupies the original building as well as a six-story addition utilizing the property next door.
Classic Stone provided furnish & install services for various stonework throughout the hotel. The guest bathrooms, uniquely designed by Reza Nouranian Design, feature a trendy collection of black and white stones sourced from Spain, Greece and Portugal. Each unit features black marble vanity tops, handmade white ceramic subway tiles for the shower and bath walls, and black and white marble mosaics on the shower floors.
The design of the amenity areas was a collaborative effort by Reza Nouranian Design and Fernando Santiago. Glazed brick wall tiles were used for the corridors and stairwells from the cellar to the second floor along with the corridor walls on the roof floor. The second floor restaurant flaunts an eye-catching floor to ceiling fireplace cladded with green soap stone and vibrant blue-green Portuguese ceramic tiles.
In addition to these spaces, four public bathrooms were completed with glazed brick wall tiles and black and white marble mosaic floors.
Nine Orchard received the prestigious Lucy G. Moses Preservation Award from the The New York Landmarks Conservancy in 2021. Additionally, it has been featured in multiple media outlets including Vogue, Elle Decor, Travel + Leisure, and Condé Nast Traveler, among many others.
