Qatar National Bank (QNB) recently opened a new branch at North Gate Mall, an upscale commercial complex north of Doha’s West Bay business district.
Classic Stone worked seamlessly with Architecture & Planning Group (APG), as well as QNB’s in-house designers, to provide recommendations and solutions for both flooring and wall applications. Additional samples and guidance were provided during a redesign of the feature walls prior to construction.
The interiors are light and bright with neutral colors, high-end finishes, and luxurious materials. White engineered stone from Italy was sourced and supplied for the flooring tile throughout the space. With a high-gloss finish and slight shimmer, the stone gives the look and feel of luxury but with the durability and low maintenance required for the high-traffic commercial space.
Feature walls are scattered throughout the branch and constructed with Volakas marble, a Greek white stone with ribbons of gray flowing throughout. To create the stunning book matched pattern, carefully selected slabs were paired and installed using a semi-mechanical anchorage system.
The branch is situated within the perimeter of the North Gate Mall complex in a stand-alone building for easy access. The branch officially opened and welcomed members in July, 2019.
Since the launch of their expansion program in 2011, Classic Stone has been the preferred natural stone supplier, assisting the design team with material selections and specification guidance on nearly 20 new branches throughout Qatar.
