Classic Stone LLC (Classic Stone) has been awarded a stone contract for a new, upscale hotel coming to the Lower East Side. Owned by DLJ Real Estate Capital Partners, Nine Orchard is a historic renovation of the 1912 Jarmulowsky Bank Building and is in the process of being converted to an independent hotel featuring 116 guest rooms, a restaurant on the first floor, two bars, and an impressive rooftop lounge.

The 12-story hotel will occupy the original building as well as a six-story addition utilizing the property next door. Designed locally by Reza Nouranian Design, the interiors are modern and elegant with trending color palettes and luxury finishes.

Classic Stone will source and supply the stonework in each guest bathroom. The scope of work will include marble vanity tops, thresholds, and custom mosaics. Black and white stones are being sourced from Spain and Greece with final fabrication and adjustments made locally at Classic Stone’s fabrication shop in New Jersey.

Construction on-site is well underway. Material production is expected to start this week with the first delivery scheduled in September. The hotel will welcome its first guests in 2019.
