Historic Waterfront Development Underway In Old Town Alexandria
Classic Stone, LLC (Classic Stone) was recently awarded an exterior stone supply contract for the second phase of the Robinson Landing project located along the Potomac River in Old Town Alexandria, Virginia.
Developed by EYA, the former industrial site is currently being transformed into a vibrant new waterfront neighborhood. The mixed-use development includes townhomes, luxury condominiums, gourmet dining, retail, landscaped park areas, and a gorgeous promenade and pier with stunning views of the river.
Working closely with New York-based landscape architects, MPFP, Classic Stone supplied the exterior paving stone for the first phase in 2018, which was completed earlier this year. The current scope of work, which is a continuation of the hardscape design in phase one, features a combination of gray and black granite for pavers, cobbles, curbs, and bands.
The bands will be fabricated and engraved using CNC technology and will depict a historical timeline of Old Town Alexandria and the shoreline of the current site. Shop drawings and cut tickets are currently being produced in-house with production starting in the coming weeks.
Many of the townhomes are already occupied and over half of the condominiums are nearing completion. The entire project is scheduled to be completed in mid 2020.
