Developed by EYA, Robinson Landing is a mixed-use renewal development located along the Potomac River in Old Town Alexandria, Virginia.
The former industrial site has been transformed into a vibrant new waterfront community featuring townhomes, luxury condominiums, dining, and retail along with a promenade and pier boasting stunning views of the river at every turn.
Designed by New York-based landscape architects MPFP, Classic Stone worked closely with the team during material sampling and selections early-on in the project. A key element of the site design was to improve the pedestrian connections throughout the neighborhood to the promenade, waterfront and public pier.
Over 5,000 sqft of granite was sourced and supplied for pavers, planter walls, stairs, curbs and bands. All shop drawings and cut tickets were completed in-house. The color palette for the stone is mostly black and gray with a pop of pink granite for the planter walls and steps. The bands were fabricated and engraved using CNC technology and depict a historical timeline of Old Town Alexandria and the shoreline of the current site.
A majority of the project was delivered in 2020 with additional retail and restaurants completed in 2021. This new development truly reflects and honors the waterfront’s rich history while embracing a modern new future.
