Classic Stone Announces Sendero Verde Contract in East Harlem

Classic Stone LLC (Classic Stone) announces project win for Sendero Verde in East Harlem, Manhattan – a mixed-use, multi-building development on track to become the world’s largest Passive House project.

Developed by Jonathan Rose Companies, L&M Development Partners and Acacia Network, the project is divided into two phases and includes over 700 affordable housing units, extensive community space, retail space and outdoor gardens. The development, designed by Handel Architects, is currently under construction with two of the three buildings nearing completion.

The landscape elements were designed by AECOM, which includes an 18,000 sqft publicly accessible courtyard. Classic Stone was specified through AECOM to source and supply the exterior paving stone for the central courtyard, community gardens, and the pedestrian path that weaves throughout the project. The space will provide a place for residents and the community to come together to play, gather, exercise and unwind.

Production for the paving stone is underway with site delivery expected in the coming months. Phase 1 is slated for completion in April 2022.
