The Qatar Defense Military mega-project is a one billion dollar program consisting of several missile defense sites, along with numerous support facilities.
Classic Stone was awarded the stone contract for one of the six project sites. The scope of work included supply and installation of natural stone for eight different buildings on site. For the interiors, a selection of marble, onyx and travertine was used for the flooring, walls, columns, countertops and ceilings. The intricate hexagon flooring pattern was created using water jet technology.
Granite pavers were also sourced, supplied and installed for entrances, stairways and walkways.
The project was an incredible challenge, due to extremely tight deadlines and strict government protocols on site. Installation is complete with finishing work ongoing. Site completion is slated for mid-2021.
